In some ways, teapots are the most complex forms in ceramics, yet still married to the simple functionality of serving tea. They must work as vessels, pouring smoothly, with a steam hole in the lid. Handles, spout, lid, body all must rhyme harmoniously and present a coherent esthetic experience at the same time. The challenge is to execute these ideals and still offer a unique perspective on an ancient form.
